CNC Plasma-Cut House Sign
Custom CNC Plasma cut power coated house signs start out with with a meeting with our client where we establish the look and feel that they are looking for so that we can put a design together that is the perfect fit for their home and property. After our meeting we come up with some design concepts that we email/text to the client for feedback. We then take that design and refine it for CNC plasma cutting. This involves making bridges on cut out letters so that, in the case of the letter “g”, the hole in the “g” does not fall out when it is plasma cut. We run computer simulations to ensure the sign will come out exactly as the customer wants before we even begin to cut steel.
The finished design is run through our software which converts it to a language that our plasma cutter can understand. At this point we begin cutting the sign out from sheet steel. This process usually takes from 5-15 minutes depending on the amount of detail in the sign. Once the sign is cut, it is hand ground using a combination of grinding and buffing wheels to remove any dross or slag from the plasma cutting process. This will ensure the metal is smooth and flawless before moving on to powder coating.
The sign is then thoroughly cleaned and prepped for powder coating. We have literally 1000’s of colors and textures that we can offer our clients. This decision is usually made earlier on in the process. The powder is applied and then baked for up to 40 minutes at 400 degrees F. Once it’s completely cured the sign is inspected before it is released to the customer.
We take a lot of pride in our designs and the quality of our work. Our house signs are designed and coated to last many years in all types of weather and they require no maintenance on the part of the customer. They are much better than wood, which can rot or be affected by insects over time, or plastic which is light and can be blown around easily by wind. Metal signs are designed to last and stand up to the elements. What better way to make a statement in your neighborhood than have a custom house sign designed and fabricated by CT Custom Coatings & Fabrication?
